The Black Tie & Boots Ball, hosted by the Texas State Society of Washington, D.C., was the most coveted activity in town, with $125.00 tickets going for as much as $6,000.00 on e-bay according to some sources.  The event was held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, the largest hotel in Washington, D.C.
